If you are in Delhi or Uttar Pradesh, you could try to get in from one of the crossings – Sunauli/Bhairahawa, Jamunah/Nepalganj or Banbasa/Mahendranagar. If you are in Bihar or in Kolkata, then Raxaul/Birganj crossing is suitable. For the trip from Darjeeling, Sikkim and Kolkata, you could cross into Nepal from the Panitanki/Kakarbhitta border point. You could also get into far western Nepal from Mohana/Dhangadhi if you are in Uttar Pradesh, around Lucknow.
