Rafting in Sun Koshi River

Sun Koshi River rafting starts in Dolalghat, which is three hours drive from Kathmandu. The rafting route is 270 kilometers long and ends in Chattra. It takes seven days of rafting to complete the trip. The return travel to Kathmandu after the trip takes 14 hours. The river grade is III to V- between September to November and V+ during June. Tama Koshi joins the Sun Koshi at the early stages of the trip with Tamor and Arun join with Sunkoshi to form the Sapta Koshi River.

The rafting in Sun Koshi combines the white water with scenery and villages. Many consider it to be one of the world’s ten classic rafting journeys.
