It is a good idea to acquire a travel insurance policy to cover theft, loss and medical problems while on a visit to Nepal. Make sure to choose a policy that covers medical and emergency repatriation, which includes helicopter evacuation for trekkers and general medical evacuation to Bangkok or Delhi. Note that many insurance policies do not cover ‘acts of terrorism’ and civil wars. So make sure that you do not visit any place in Nepal that your government discourages you to travel to.
