You can either go on a luxurious rafting trip where you are rowed down the river and the staffs do everything for you (pitch camp, cook and so on) or you could book a trip where you can participate in the running of the expedition including pitching tents, loading the rafts and helping with the cooking.
If you are interested in participating during rafting, then you can paddle or rig with an oar frame and row the raft. Â With an oar frame, the guide usually sits in the middle and rows while the other passengers enjoy the scenery. In a paddle raft the guide sits at the back calling instructions and steering while the crew provides the power.
