Generally, the best time to travel in Nepal is the dry season from October to May. It is difficult to travel around in the monsoon season from June to September.

October and November are the best time for trekking, rafting and mountain flights as the weather is cool and the atmosphere fresh. Festivals like Dasain, Tihar and Chhath fall in this period.

December, January and February are still good months for trekking but it is very cold at regions of high altitude. There are a lot of festivals in this season including Loshar, Maghe Sankranti and Shivaratri.

From March the weather starts to get warmer with the weather being hot and humid at the end of May. You could enjoy the splendid view of rhododendrons in the hilly areas during this period. You could also observe various festivals including Buddha Jayanti, Bisket Jatra and Rato Machhendranath Jatra.
