The Indreshwar Mahadev Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva, dates back to 1294. However a lingam was first erected and the temple was constructed only in the 15th century. The temple suffered damage after the 1988 earthquake and the structure underwent some changes.
There are other temples inside the premises of Indreshwar Mahadev. The Bhairab Temple is located towards the south of the main temple. Towards the northwestern corner, there is a double roofed Shiva Temple and there is a shrine of Lord Vishnu towards the west of the main temple. You might notice pots and pans hanging from the roof of the main temple. These are donated to the temple by newlyweds to ensure a happy married life.
