Buddha Purnima festival marks the birth, enlightenment and death of Lord Buddha. It falls on the full moon day of Baisakh (April-May). In this day ritual processions are held and dances are performed by priests . A great fair is held at Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, and other buddhist monasteries like Swayambhunath and Bodnath in Kathmandu.
